This is my first academically independent animation: a manned spaceship approaching Jupiter. It's a bit sloppy given that I completed it in just one day, but I think the cinematography is cool. Made with 3D Studio Max 2009. The song is Ghosts of Reach by Martin O'Donnell.

  • the only thing is: jupiter is a gas giant, so i'ts fully made out of gas. that meens you can't land or walk on jupiter...

but the animation was great ;)

  • Thank you very much! That was actually one of the reasons I made this, to give an ominous feel of no return. I suggest you take a look at my other videos.

  • im sorry dave, i can not let you do that

  • I think we could fly a dirigible in the Upper Atmosphere on Jupiter... suspend a camera and sonar-like buoy network. The Chemistry and Gas dynamics of Jupiter can tell us a lot about what is the process of stellar formations before a star ignites? The gas giants in our solar system were on their way to becomes Suns before all the material got blow away into the Kuiper belt. And the structures of Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune are like Solar Systems in their own right.

Yes, you can't land on it but if you go really far down the pressure builds up enough for it to turn liquid.

  • @enkhuizenddg There is a Solid Core But the pressure i so intense that it would crush you and your Craft.

  • @enkhuizenddg you might be able to land, considering the strength of gravity it has, then again you might just end up in the dead middle of its core.

  • It was good but the sun would look over three times smaller from Jupiter.

  • Dammit, I know that music! Is that from "The Dig", the LucasArts game? Sounds like it, even if it's not!

Anyway, that was pretty good. perhaps could have used more color--that seems to be a running theme in your space videos--but I loved the camera shake as the asteroid goes by.
