Thanksgiving 2000 in Oklahoma City, OK USA. This is an interview by Brian Bates, aka the Video Vigilante, of Larry - a homeless man living in one of OKC's homeless camps.

I see him from time to time. He lost his shelter/home that is featured in this video. You can often find him standing near SE 44 and S. I-35 panhandling. His biggest problem (besides a lengthy criminal record) is his drug and alcohol addiction.

Oh how sad. Which drug does he choose to use? I sure hope he can live at the homeless shelter for the winter and doesn't freeze outside. I take it he has no family that wants to take him in...did his mother wash her hands of him or something?

From what I remember he doesn't like the shelters because they have rules and he's not much of a rules guy. I believe he told me he hasn't had contact with family in years and doesn't want to. He will most likely die on the streets or commit a serious crime and die in prison.

Are you happy? Are you glad you've got footage of this poor man on tape for the sole purpose of gaining views? I was very supportive of your cause until I saw this. You're obviously exposing the life of this less fortunate man for your own benefit. I think that's wrong. I hope the best for that man, and I'm sickened by your intentions.

You really don't have a clue do you? He asked to do an interview and in exchange I bought him over $100 in food and supplies. He didn't want cash becasue he would spend it on liquor. Do you throw the same stones at the news, movie producers or even authors? You need to grow up kiddo.

i have complete respect for this man. though he doesn't have the luxury like others have, he has built a roof over his head and seems to have managed for what he has left.

He doesn't look stoned at all. Poor guy is either basically brain dead (from years of drug and alcohol) or is mentally ill. Very sad. Hey, we're all just a hair's breath away from homelessness. What comes around, goes around, people, be careful what you say.

its sad these people live this way. but some are happier than living like us. they hold up signs for work but ive never had one to offer to work for their money. they want it free. i saw a guy up there the other day using a wheel chair and claiming to be a vietnam veteran. then he would get up and push his wheel chair to the next section to sit in it and hold up a sign begging for food. they work in shifts up there taking turns and then go buy booze. cigarettes and dope with the money. its sad
