This method is perfect for:
Transitioners: Keeps relaxed hair tangle free during detangling and styling sessions. Also helps minimize breakage due to the stress of combing.

Naturals: Helps ease detangling woes, and speeds up styling sessions. Also helps cut down on unnecessary splits, tangles and knots due to detangling.

Detangling hair while soaking wet may cause breakage and unnecessary hair loss, as it is important to remember that this is the time your hair is in it's most fragile state. I recommend detangling prior to shampooing on damp hair with a seamless comb as demonstrated in this video. A seamless comb is ideal as there is nothing for the hair to "catch" and "snag" on, which keeps the ends of your hair happy and free of splits [given the rest of your regimen is sound].

  • i luv your vid.. its great.. one of the best detanglings that Ive seen.. Merry Christmas

  • very informative, thanks.

  • I luv luv luouououv this woman's blog.

  • @Tribesbez No. mine looks thin as well. Maybe I'm just being too impatient to work up a good lather, or using too little shampoo, or too much water. Practice makes perfect!

  • Am I the only one who wants my shampoo to lather as much as hers!? Look at those suds!

  • This was very helpful thank you for sharing.

  • @bolinga27 you can use acv & water (preferably distilled) as a final rinse after you wash and condition. ^_^

  • @lovemesomeorli A seam is like the place where to pieces of something meet, typically like the part of something sewn where you can see the thread connecting the two pieces. I this case she means that the comb is made of one whole piece of plastic, not pieces that were fused together. That way there are no places for your hair to get caught and snagged on.

  • what does seamless mean? I thought my english was good, but I guess not lol .. Im guessing the comb has to be smooth all over?
