I've been trying to work out that damn little chromatic part (2nd bar) for about an hour with absolutely no luck for about an hour, stumble across this video and get it in one. Thanks :)

well played. Great you were aware of both positions, helps.

@tieonard42 cool cos I'm using a four string

I figured this bass part out by watching bunch these bass cover videos for this song so I could arrange this for my school's pep band. Love the middle section with the horns. Love playing that part on my sax and love the fact that everyone is in unison playing it even the bass and guitar.

i have been playing for over 15 years,,,, I just cannot do this one.. great lesson.. I dont think my mind can retain it all... I have had 2 one hour lessons trying to learn this song.. never could get the run.
Do you use the 5th string?

@boredoutofhismind1 I originally recorded this to teach it to the bass player in my cover band...so I didn't use the fifth string.

So cool to see people playing this one. Good job. I think the second measure is played an octave higher on the original song. Thanks for posting.

just so you all know...I did this video to teach the bass player in my cover band the part. I realized later that I should have jumped up an octave in the 2nd measure.....apologies.
