A 33-year veteran of the Boston Police Department, Sgt. Howard Donahue is also an outspoken supporter of Question 2. As he notes in this ad airing across Massachusetts, he does not support the legalization of marijuana, but that is not what Question 2 proposes. Question 2 is a simple, commonsense reform that will allow police officers to focus on serious, violent crime and free up law enforcement resources.

  • Question 2 is not enough, its a start though.

There is another law, possession with intent, which is very vague, and can possibly carry a mandatory sentence, within 1000 ft of a school. Even if you just happen to be driving by it, or like a block away, and have nothing to do with any students.

  • yes YES yes YES yes YES yes YES

    woooooooooooooooooooo yeah SGT Donahue

  • the real gateway drugs are alcohol and tobacco.. Wait.. those are legal drugs, they dont count.

  • All I can say, is it is better than nothing. It is still ignorant beyond belief to keep cannabis illegal.

  • The way society is conditioned keeps it illegal. We're conditioned to believe the distinction between moderation and excess regarding alcohol, whether it's light beer or hard liquor. With pot however, those who suppress its legalization say that the line between moderation and excess is blurred. So, if you have a drink, that's fine. It's something to relax you. If you take a toke however, then the cultural perception is that you're going to be shooting heroin tomorrow, so say "the experts".

  • why the hell not legalize it? WHY DO PEOPLE THING POT IS SO BAD FOR YOU? And who cares IF it is harmful.. Its my life.. Who are you to tell me what I can and cant do in my own house. As long as I am not hurting anyone. WHO CARES! Ha, this comment will be added at 4:20 am..

  • It's only common sense. We all know it. Hell with the down turn in the economy, since it is 10 times less harmful than alcohol, I think we should tax it and regulate it. Let small business, farmers and bars start for it. Prohibition was a horrible idea for alcohol and its the same with Marijuana.

  • I hope everyone supports this campaign by either informing others of said struggle or donating any funds to keep the advertisements a rolling.
