On Monday, the federal government announced they will begin fining airlines that make passengers wait on the tarmac for more than three hours. Do you think this is a good idea? Airline officials say the new rules may cause more flight cancellations. Would you accept more cancellations as a trade off for fewer delays on the tarmac? Have you ever experienced long delays on the tarmac while traveling by air?

  • There would be more cancellations due to flight crews timing out. pilots are only allowed to work up to 12 hours in a day. Flight attendants can only be scheduled up to 13. International flights have different restrictions but follow same guidelines. If the flight does not take off in time for the crews to reach their destinations before these limitations the flights will be canceled..

  • It is a very good idea. Why should people sit on pavement going no where for hours.
