Removed internal electronics. Added an early generation iPod shuffle to the side and speaker to the front which acts as a breather unit. Spraypainted metallic silver and flat black for the finish.

  • Hey, do you by chance remember how the spring on the left side of the helmet went?

I was taking mine apart and the spring just popped out before I could even see how it was positioned. It's not an actual spring but the bent piece of metal that was holding the white bar down in the side that controls the visor coming down.

  • @animefreaksk8r if you message me your email address I'll send you through the photos I took as I was breaking it down so I could remember how to put it back together again!

  • I didn't use a primer for the faceplate as it's already metallic gold. No primer was used on the black parts of the mask - although I would recommend it as the flat black comes off easily. Also, when you're taking apart the mask, you'll need to completely remove the spring assembly that allows the visor to slowly slide down. Be sure to take photos of the assembly so you know how to put it back together ;-)

  • I used flat (matte) black for most of the helmet. The flat black glides on nicely and is really hard to mess up so you shouldn't have too many problems. I didn't spray the inside as you don't end up seeing it and the paint would just rub off on your face otherwise. The visor was spray painted with metallic silver. For the silver you'll have to be really careful to spay thin even coats. Probably about 10 coats should do. This will help stop the paint bubbling.

  • The eye lenses haven't been modified. It's probably just a combination of the light and camera lens that gives it that effect.
