  • I think zigzwang is talking about at 1:20. After white playes, 4. cxd5 exd5 can white just play 5. dxc5 safely and win a pawn? 5...Bxc5 6. Qxd5

  • @rthunley42 Yes, White could play 5.dxc5 Bxc5 6.Qxd5 Qxd5 7.Nxd5 Bd6 and win the pawn, so my advise on 5.dxc5 Bxc5 is not accurate. Better is 5.dxc5 d4 6.Ne4 (or Na4) Bxc5 7.Nxc5 Qa5+ 8. Bd2 (or Qd2) Qxc5. White cannot win the pawn.

  • At the ending of the video, if bishop takes the knight on f6, the pawn on d5 would fall. Or is there a way of defending it? Also, in the beginning if white takes the pawn on c file, wouldnt the pawn on d file fall. White has knight at c3 and queen attacking it while black has only the queen defending it.

  • Can you give me the time coding for your 2 questions.

  • Is there going to be another part on the Tarrasch defense? Cause it's cut off in the end. Anyways, great lectures and finally the updates come on a more regular basis again :D

  • In the original recording, I say "that concludes this lecture". The video is pretty long and maybe Youube cut it off when they "converted" the video.

I have no plans for another video on the Tarrasch. I working on the Slav and Semi-slav right now.

  • nice video but next time lose the candy.

  • @KensOfficeUSA Yes this makes a lot of a sense, interesting that black can match the white pawn formation so soon without risk in this variation

thanks for clarifying this, excellent videos

  • could only watch the first minute - the gum noise is too annoying lol. Lower microphone sensitivity or don't chew gum

  • can you do the other videos in this format because the format you used for ruy lopez really sucked

  • i know what you mean... pretty gross
