1961 Monkey King 'Havoc in Heaven' Chinese Animation

Multiple award winning animation made in 1961-64 by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio. It was made in the period of the golden age of chinese animation. Very beautifully illustrated, it is based on the classic literature 'Xi You Ji' (Journey to the West) where the mischievous Sun Wu Kong (the Monkey King) wreaked massive damage in the Heavenly Courts.

Of course its unique if you havent seen anything like this before. If you had never seen a japanese anime before and you saw it for the first time you would also call it unique. Japanese anime have different styles depending on the people creating it, so does chinese animation.
