Translation:

In the Finnish Championship Rally at Rovaniemi everyone was interested to see who would be the fastest of the four Formula 1 drivers. In the end Jyrki Järvilehto, also an F1 commentator for MTV3, was ninth in the final standings, ahead of Kimi Räikkönen and Mika Häkkinen.

The winner of the unofficial F1 rally series turned out to be the favorite, Jyrki Järvilehto. Jykä, congratulations, nicely done.

JJ: "Well, I don't know about being the favorite, but it was a tough fight. It went pretty well, I was ninth overall, so it's a great result. And the F1 thing, I suppose I get a feather in my cap."


Kimi Räikkönen finished 13th, one minute behind Järvilehto.

KR: "It was quite nice. This was my first rally and I could only do about 60 kilometres of testing beforehand, but I still had fun."

Q: Were you apprehensive at all, setting off on that first stage with your experienced co-driver?

KR: "No, not really. There was some excitement of course, which I think is normal, but having a professional co-driver by your side made it easy to drive."

Mika Häkkinen had some technical difficulties, and finished 19th.

Q: Mika, three out of four F1 drivers finished the rally, and no-one retired due to driver error, that's a pretty good result don't you think?

MH: "Yeah, it is a good result. But this is rallying, I had some problems as well and had only one gear left on this final stage. But I think it went pretty well overall."

Mika Salo suffered a gearbox failure, and had to retire after Stage 8.

MS: "It's too bad, it would've been nice to finish all the stages."

But ... I adore the Finns then ... Of course Finland! :D

This means it that a tiny one was anxious before the competition? :)

"Vähän" means "a little bit". As in, Kimi was a little bit anxious/nervous/apprehensive/e­xcited before the rally start. But only a little, as he said. =)
