  • mmmmm... from hartlepool here :) those pics of the hartlepool greyhound track made me smile like an insane cat.. its a morrisons now.. some things dont change for the better.. great shots, thanks for sharing

  • Yes a supermarket, Belle Vue went the same way and Aycliffe is a small factory and a bit of a road - what a waste - at least I have plenty of photos and video footage to keep the memories going!

  • Yep 2. One is a good one as a white top. I need your email address and I will send you as samples

  • Awesome! i remember some of those cars, made the hairs on my neck stand up! top vid

  • Thanks! and this little clip is nowhere near as good as the full DVD I have produced. Iv'e got hour and hours of footage and I still like the 70s best - Smithy in the wildcat car, all the cars were different in those days but now they all look the same!

  • Remember The 'Pool and Aycliffe so well. I live near Long Eaton which, after closing in the 90's has only just started to have a development built on it.

Another waste was Boston and my favourite track? Crewe. What a dump but how brilliant it was.

I attended The Festival of Speed at Brands Hatch a couple of times and went to Bristol and Leicester.

Smithy was my no.1 driver but I liked #3 Stu Bamforth as well and then #33 Pete Falding during the 90's

  • I lived about half a mile away from Leicester stadium as a kid in the late seventies on what was the stadium estate. I lived for the Stockcar saturday nights! very, very fond memories. what a crying shame it became a housing estate.

252 Dave Chisholm was my all time hero.

I went a few times to Brandon years later to take my 'new wife' but it never had the atmosphere of Leicester.

Iv'e moved away now and don't know opf anywhere local to the devon area where you can go to see F1 stockcar.

  • @biddy10960 Leicesters Parker Drive stadium is a housing estate! What a waste! We had greyhound racing twice a week with speedway and stock car racing!

  • Why put this stupid music on a Stock car vid? This song makes me want to puke!! Its a piece of shit!! I hate this song so much!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

  • @robmckeown same here really good memories we use to go to hartlepool with our box to stand on haha happy days we are from hartlepool and not sure of the nearest track to us now . would love to take my son to see a race .

  • Have you got any good pics of Nigel or Brian Whorton?
