1. Harbourview is located in Downtown Dartmouth at 42 Canal St. in the newly painted, former Value Village building. Only a 10 minute walk from the Alderney Ferry Terminal along the Shubie Canal Trail, you can't miss Harbourview or its wrap around mural of Dartmouth.

2. Harbourview is an Everything Market. New, used, handmade, manufactured locally or abroad, and edible, Harbourview is the only market in Metro which does not place restrictions on its merchants or the products they sell. This makes Harbourview the market with the most product choice and variety.

3. Harbourview provides residents of Downtown Dartmouth and South Woodside with a close and economical place to shop for fresh and frozen groceries. Since the closure of the neighborhood's only grocery store in 2009, many residents require a car to purchase their food. Harbourview fills that void with a section of its market dedicated to competitively priced products sold by local food wholesalers.

4. When you shop at Harbourview you are directly contributing to the local economy. With the majority of Harbourview merchants being entrepeneurs, artists and small businesses, you can be sure that most of the dollars you spend at Harbourview will stay in your local community, and not shipped off to corporate headquarters in Toronto.

5. Harbourview has a food court serving breakfast, lunch and snacks to please a variety of tastebuds for great prices.

6. Among the businesses that Harbourview houses are: Book of Joe, Dartmouth's only cafe/bookstore serving fresh Java Blend Coffee and Mrs. P's Treats; Trail Blazer Outlet, Nova Scotia's only retail location for locally manufactured Trail Blazer tools and garden equipment; Third Eye Blind, the only location for Dartmouth's favorite game store formerly located on Portland St; and The Pillow People, Truro's favorite couple for hand-quilted and customized pillows.

7. Harbourview is a great Dartmouth meeting place and provides locals with a social venue to meet up, share a coffee, have a chat and shop together. Whether you arrange to meet-up with new friends, or happen to run into old ones -- Harbourview is the happening spot to be in Dartmouth every weekend.

8. Harbourview provides entrepreneurs with a venue to test-market their small business and service ideas. Some of Harbourview's merchants have gone on to open their own successful off-site locations, or have used their Harbourview location as an anchor location for off-site business. With no lease requirements, and permanent, secure set-up, Harbourview is the perfect, no-strings-attached way to begin, expand or close-out your local business.

9. Harbourview has an amazing social networking community. You can find us on Facebook (facebook.com/harbourviewmarket), Twitter (twitter.com/hwmarket), Flickr (flickr.com/photos/hwmarket) and Foursquare (search Harbourview Market), in addition to our regularly updated website, www.harbourviewmarket.com.

10. Harbourview is not like any other Weekend Market in HRM. Unless you've visited merchant markets elsewhere in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, leave your expectations at home.
