Mt. Milligan is a proposed gold-copper mine located north of Prince George in an area that is also valued traditional territory for two First Nations. To proceed, the mine requires permits from four natural resource agencies, and if each acted independently the First Nations consultation would take a minimum of 260 days. However, coordinated consultation by the ILMB team resulted in a 120-day consultation a 55 per cent time reduction and significantly less duplication of effort.
