Put your bird in the carrier on a routine basis. Get him in, put him in the car, and just drive. Don't go anywhere near the vet's - if you have a harness for your bird, take him for a walk in a safe park with no hawks. Or even just walk with the carrier in your arms up and down the street. Be really talkative and happy with him the whole time. Teach him to associate it with something good - your happiness and a HELL of a lot of treats. If you do this consistently he will not fear the carrier.

Please send more of this type of video. All of us old people need this information. Thank you and God Bless you Dears...
oh my goodness ..i wish my parrot would let his check up and clippings go that smoothly..unfortunately it is quite the dramatic scene when it is time for his visit the the vet..getting him in his carrier alone is so upsetting to him.. any advice..his nails are so sharp and really need to be done soon..but we both dread the visit to have him clipped...otherwise he's a super bird..:)

Your parrot can! Just plain old positive reinforcement training. I have a dvd available on how to train your bird for veterinary procedures...including nail trims on my website. Do a search for Good Bird Inc and you will find it : )
