India in Tanzania

On our trip to Tanzania in May 2008, we were astonished to find Indian culture and people alive and well in East Africa. In this short clip, you can see hear an Indian song and see many Indian people on an ocean-side resort in Kigamboni, Tanzania (off the coast of Dar es Salaam).

@HiddenDiam0nds British Empire: the English sent Indians from the Raj to work (like slaves) in the African colonies. Hence the notable presence in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, etc) and other former African colonies (Ghana, South Africa...). There was a policy of expulsion of non-blacks from Uganda, otherwise there was previously a large Indian community there. As you can probably guess, India and Pakistan were created/won independence from England and the Asians (Indians) remained in Africa.

My girlfriend, who is Chinese, says that if you can't find Indians or Chinese in a place, then that place is not worth living! I am Indian, and when I visited Kenya recently, all I could see was Indians and some Chinese on the streets #LOL
