  • Quite right, my mistake - It was Anglia Television with the rotating silver knight figure, not ATV (Associated TeleVision).

  • Weird Norfolk bloke, what can you say?

We are back to Auchmithie in September for a meet up of descendants so will definitely take in an authentic smokie as opposed to the Northants version I do in the barbecue!

  • It's Anglia Television Not to be confused with ATV the midlands ITV Contractor. It was Anglia who produced Bygones as Anglia TV wasn't refered as ATV thanks!

  • What is he talking about , bloaters having a similarity to smokies, no way . Great clip which brought back happy memories of my younger years living in Scotland. The smokie stands out alone on flavour among all smoke fish. I bought a pair the other day which found their way down this part of the country (Essex) but I believe they had been frozen, susequently lacked the texture and flavour. I will return one day and sample the delights of a fresh smokie.
