Choreography by Hans van Manen | Premiered in 2001 | Lucent Danstheater, The Hague | Holland.
This dynamic quartet is set to music by Guy Klusevsek and Alan Bern, Joseph Haydn and Peteris Vasks. A marvellously natural-looking creation for two couples takes place. The ballet opens and closes with an overwhelming duet for two men. In between, they dance various pas-de-deux with two women, in which the relationships two people have with each other are expressed in movement.
Roger Van der Poel received the prestigious Dutch Danceprice 'Swan best dance achievement 2008' for his part in Simple Things. He performed in Simple Things during the Hans van Manen Festival in September 2007 and during the Holland Dance Festival oktober 2007.
"Celia Amade, Roger Van der Poel, Nina Botkay and Javier Monzon belong to the ideal Van Manen dancers: sharp, focussed, with a hint of mystery and tangible energy the dancers lift the dance beyond the movement itself" (NRC Handelsblad, 12 September 2007).

When you want to comment, do not insult nor should you go on assumptions. I do not hate anything for your information, simplly am entitled to my own opinion. No one needs to be a top dancer to express such opinions, but it only needs comparison. it takes a lot more to dancing than just hard work.

Don't be hateful against dancers. Because if you dance, it means you work. You work your ass off every day. And you should not ever criticize dancers in Het Nederlandse Dans Theater, because they are good and they definitely work hard! This are great dancers. And personally I'd like to see it if YOU could do it better. Think about that before you spread your narrow minded opinion.
