Tea is in our lives from breakfast till late at night. Our tea is ready every hour of the day in summer and winter. You can always drink tea alone or in crowd.
Tea culture brought in samovar culture. Being an inseparable part of our tea culture since 19th century, samovar is an important means of living in Vezirkopru.
The Vezirkopru Bazaar, built in 1660, is a gift of Ottoman Grand Vizier Koprulu Mehmet Pasha's wife Lady Ayse. Samovar making in this bazaar and its surrounding shops is being practiced for the past 200 years.
Vezirkopru is like samovar's nativeland. There are almost forty samovar manufacturers in this historical bazaar. Craftsmen working together here manufacture flat-type samovar unique to this district. Vezirkopru samovar is quite different from rounded Russian samovar. With its shape and practical use, it is more preferred at home, in picnic or in tea-houses than a kettle.

To drink samovar tea is living joy in sensing the best flavor at your tongue. People drinking this tea in front of the historical bazaar in Vezirkopru mix this enjoy with their daily chat. Even though the name is of Russian origin, there is a description that no other can replace. When they said in the old times: "fire burns within fire", probably they were trying to tell the difference between a samovar and a kettle.
"The room was filled with smell of toast. Samovar was nicely boiling. Ali resembled samovar to a factory with no pain, strike or accident. It only produced smell, steam and morning bliss."; Samovar was a source of inspiration for Sait Faik, and was Halide Edip's dream and nostalgia:
"A table at the center with silver samovar on top. Lots of delicious things in small plates reminding fast-break."
