This is actually a poem by the poet, Edgar Allen Poe. He was an American poet, born and raised in Boston. Therefore this is American poetry.
But this is an amazing poem. Would it be possible to get the narrator's name?
On a side note, I read this poem very differently. I saw it as the sand was symbolic of his life left, and he was struggling with the fact that he would one day die. I'm not sure if this was a love poem, but there is no wrong answer, especially when it comes to Poe XD.
