rxwarrior998, obviously you've never flown a 407. While any MD500 I've ever flown was quick and agile, it still does not live up to the power and grace of a 407. Probably the best single engine turbine out there. And yes, mushatrusha, the 407 can take that without any problem. The rotorhead and blade system for the 407 was developed from the military Kiowa. Bell doesn't recommend that type of flying, but they know its' capable of it.

I've also flown the Bell 407 and 206 and I agree, I'd much rather fly the A Star.

were is this

@nocalsteve why would you say that?

@rxwarrior998 So in other words, you're not really a helicopter pilot.

An Helicopter Looping is way better than a looping of an plane

I believe it can take the stress and the bell 206 fly much betterthan the mb5oo
i have flown the 206 and L4 and the 407 and yet i fine that the A star and the md500 a better more comforable helicopter, and would much rather fly them anyday over the bell's.

The MD500 is a great helicopter, but it is not comparable to the 407. Its like comparing the telephone to the telegraph...

The pilot was fired and as you say, they had the complete rotorhead and blades replaced. This is because until now Bell is unable to calculate the stresses and loads during these type of maneuvers, but according to a Bell test pilot, the 407 can take this without any problem. I believe that too.
