@MrSB1274 And when I say jesus. I mean the MAN. The Man who stood his ground and returned love against the onslaught of hate. I respect any Man that can do that.
@MrSB1274 Well, having said all of that, I will say this, The Jesus that is true is knows complete Love in the Highest way. I have the utmost respect for Jesus. Peace.
@MrSB1274 Those who are religiously inclined try to impose upon the child the beliefs, hopes and fears which they in turn have acquired from their parents. There must be deep insight into the hidden motivations of authority and domination. The right kind of education will encourage thoughtfulness and consideration for others WITHOUT enticements or threats of any kind.
@MrSB1274 Any time you teach a child ANY doctrine you are conditioning them to accept it as reality. Most of us have been conditioned to all of this, which is considered religious "education"; but this conditioning sets man against man, it creates antagonism, not only among the believers, but also against those of other beliefs. Though all religions assert that they worship god and say that we must love one another, they still instill fear through their doctrines of reward and punishment.
@MrBeautifulba1: If you believe that is the belief system and that people are forcing children to believe it, then you have bought into a very false strawman of what christianity really is. Yes there are some christians who are abusive and treat their children like crap, but that's not what christ taught. Yes, christians should be a better example for Christ, but no one is perfect, and you're never going to find a perfect christian. Look at Christ for the model, not at christians.
@MrBeautifulba1 : Its not a human mistake about theology. Its a choice to reject or accept. If believers are saying that people should adhere to their opinions, they are taking the role of God. No one should listen to what a man says, but instead should adhere to Christ and the scripture as the highest authority. Any man claiming people should follow his rules or ideas first and foremost as standard for salvation is a false prophet and claims to be above God.
@MrSB1274 A "mistake" that can cost them an eternity in hell because they made a human "mistake" about the theology of the bible ??? I would hope that god would make it a bit easier for humans not to make such costly "mistakes". Because according to some believers, if you don't adhere to their particular opinions you will be cast out. Forever. That's not a healthy belief system to indoctrinate children into believing. "Believe in this brand of christianity or go to hell." I don't get it.
@MrBeautifulba1 : Because they want to draw their own truths and conclusions from the text, and justify their behavior by picking what verses/books that they think Justifies them. People also disagree because a diverse group of people read the bible. You're obviously going to have diverse opinions and arguments about it. But a huge lesson that the bible teaches is that you should conform yourself to the bible. Not conform the bible to yourself. That's a mistake a lot of people make.
@MrBeautifulba1 Because it was written in many different languages. The best translation (closest to the true origins and word meanings) is the ESV. What we have in english is not that far off from the hebrew and greek original manuscripts. The scriptures are not changing, and they're very clear.
