http://www.deansafe.com/samodeandexi.html How to move a Gun safe off a pallet is a question we're often asked. Our guys make it look easy, but don't be fooled -- this could put you in the hospital! It pays to get some help. Joe's been moving safe for over 20 years for our Los Angeles stores and hes still going strong

  • @TheJohnnyProject So true

  • Can't be good for the hinges, although typically the body is only 1/2 the weight of the safe anyway. Just make sure the safe isn't bolted to the pallet first, lol.

  • @l337pwnage Fear not, safe hinges are quite strong the ones on this safe can hold a 5000lb. door

  • Is that ok for the paint on the bottom edge? I would be concerned about chipping.

  • @oilhammer04 It's been a non issue on the textured paints but you may want to put a towel down on the high gloss paint job. Good question,

    thanks

  • Definitely can tell that man has worked with his fair share of safes, good work!

  • @DeanSafe Daaang maaan,... a safe got your hair?

  • Super !!!

  • you are a safe jedi

  • @milanvdv Have had a few close calls myself, still got all my parts, well except all my hair.

  • @DeanSafe

Indeed, if you are working with heavy things, always safety first.

And I must say I am happy I've never seen such horrible accidents

  • @milanvdv Steel toes boot are a must but as I tell my guys "only put them on the feet you want to keep". I've been in the safe business this since 1972 and I've see body parts cut off by heavy safes, not fun.

  • @10ring1 Safe moving is a specialty; balance, brains, and training are a must for making a success of it never backs or brute force.

Our delivery teams have been delivering 10 to 15 a day for the last 25 years and have had no problems removing a safe this way.

You are right though, this kind of work can kill you and in no way is this a recommendation for you to do it yourself, but if some hardheaded guy want to, this is the best way we’ve found.

Thank you so much for watching and the comments

  • As professional as he may be, I can't believe that safe didn't go over when he pushed it over to get it off the pallet! I had 4 professional movers trying to move my Browning safe and they almost dumped it over doing the same thing. I wouldn't advise that second move to anyone.

  • metal tip boots I supose ;)

    Smart choice :p
