Jewish rebellion in Judaea! 66-73 AD Titus Vespasian and his father Flavius Vespasian were trying to supress the rebellion.They got 60.000 men including auxiliaries. After four years they also got to Jerusalem. But Flavius had to go back to Rome to become Emperor after Nero's death. So Titus took responsibility for this siege . However, it's not easy for Titus and his legionnaires to take the city...

I'm surprised the hebrews did so well against the Roman army.

these weren't just barbaric hordes this was the Roman Empire. Trained, fit, armored soldiers against some hebrews. the fact that the Romans had to resort to building a wall around them to defeat them was really admirable on the hebrews part. I'm almost skeptical of God or some sort of supernatural help.
