Steve Irwin's death was a rare occurrence in stingray incidents. These docile animals, considered by many as the puppy dogs of the sea, are being brutally murdered at alarming rates. Here at the world famous Stingray City in the Cayman Islands, we investigate their increasing bad rap and the effect it is having on this beautiful animal and the people who come to see them.

What awesome creatures. I used to fish with large surf gear off the jetties of San Diego and catch them. I don't think I will ever fish for them again. Would rather not hurt anymore of them.

the reason steve irwin died is because when the barb punctured his skin, he pulled it out, further tearing muscle. we would've had a chance if he didnt pull the barb out
