The rope we were using were good ropes. Its guarenteed to not break. My buddy's dad works for First Energy, he gets us all the rope we need. Thats what they use when they get their big diesel's and bucket trucks stuck.

Why would he attempt something he knew he would fail at? One of the most important things an off-roader can learn is the limits of his rig.

I'm not sure the Liberty driver knows how to off-road. It sounded like he was in 4-Lo when he entered the mud pit (?). 4-Lo is for low-speed crawling, not mudding.

The driver doesn't know how to mud at all. He just recently got this Liberty because he totaled his other car. He has no idea what he is doing at all. and btw...that rope is 2-inch nylon rope...a tow strap would break before it would. The driver is an idiot to tell you the truth. The reason we filmed it is to make fun of him.

You all are a bunch of morons. First you try to take a stock Liberty on stock Badyear tires through a giant mud pit, and then you confirm your stupidity by trying to tow it out with a frickin' half-inch rope with a granny knot tied on the end. If you're going to go off-roading, be prepared and bring a tow strap.

We couldn't use the tow starp that we had because the idiot doesn't have a hitch in the back. There is nothing to connect it to. The tow hooks are in the front and we couldn't pull him from the front. We had everything we needed there...we know how to off-road. THe guy new he was going to get stuck.

Most recovery straps are rated to pull out about 10,000 pounds for every inch of width. So if you have a 3-inch wide recovery strap then it could handle a 30,000-pound load. I've been rock climbing with nylon rope and it's strong stuff, but recovery straps are much stronger.

Edit to my first post: There is a distinction between a tow strap and a recovery strap. Recovery straps are designed to stretch, and they don't have metal hooks on the end.
