Peggy Lee (March 26, 1920 January 21, 2002) was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, composer and actress in a career spanning nearly seven decades. From her beginnings as a vocalist on local radio, to singing with Benny Goodman's big band, she was forging her own sophisticated persona, Lee evolved into a multi-faceted artist and performer. She wrote music for films, acted, and created conceptual record albumsencompassing poetry, jazz, chamber pop, art songs, and other genres.

@kirko1954 Thank you for your thoughtful remarks. Sometimes I am not sure about who is in the pictures. Recently I heard someone sing this song on the Jay Leno show, but I was not in the room with the TV so I did not find out who was singing, and then the show was over. I really do not hear this song very often.

Our marvellous and pretty Peggy! It was by God's good-grace that we got to enjoy this sweet and angelic-voiced talent for as many years as we did! Peggy suffered many near-fatal health emergencies during her long-life. She always managed to recover and mount yet one more happy concert "comeback." How fortunate we are to have these great recordings to forever remember.

a wonderful festive video; The Christmas Waltz is one of our favs too !!! Love Peggy, saw her perform in the '80s....I can still still see her closing with The Wind Beneath My Wings...dressed in soft pink chiffon with the piano...so mellow, so Peggy ...stars for you and Peg
