That's where this game shoots itself in the foot. The first 5 missions of the game are nothing more than prologue/integrated tutorial. You'd be forgiven for being distracted by the terrible VA to not notice that. Even then the campaign takes a while to ramp up - but when the real campaign kicks in there's action aplenty. And, many, many more of those beautiful explosions.

@SireSquish I like how in the Solon Heritage expansion pack you get RP by recycling wrecks or having Interstellar Merchants jump through wormholes.

Scrounge your RP until you get cheaper RP costs (research). Only research things at full price if you absolutely must. You *can* max the tech tree, even if the game tells you otherwise.
