A group of popular antibiotics has been slapped with an FDA warning for causing ruptured tendons. Russ Mitchell speaks with Dr. Emily Senay about what patients should know.
@eastariel Funding is not the problem. The FDA is corrupt. They work for the drug companies, not the public. Follow the money! They know full well how destructive these drugs are and yet turn a blind eye. The inmates are officially in charge of the asylum. There are many documentaries, books and articles about this conflict of interest that'll make you so mad steam'll come out of your ears.
Really? Thanks for letting me know. This is overwhelming. There are so many products out there that are dangerous and toxic, including some of our food.
I hope the FDA learns more about these products and protects us better from greedy corporations and pharmaceutical companies that put profits before people. I think we need to boost the FDA budget (which we can do by reducing weapons spending) so the FDA will have more resources to do their work.
@eastariel These poisonous antibiotics are NOT good in ANY amount--unless you want to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair. This video vastly underestimates the likelihood and the severity of these side effects. Quinolones are nothing short of absolute poison.
At :45 "Warning my ass" these poisons should never have been brought to the market to begin with. The FDA is a sham they protect only big pharma not people.
at 1:50 TALK TO THEIR DOCTOR!! The doctor prescribed it.
@eastariel Antibiotics are only good when you are TRULY sick. Taking them at any time while debilitating illness is not present contributes to antibiotic resistance, as does feeding animals antibiotics consistently in any amount.
@papatoony
Maybe the president can fix the FDA.
If not this one, maybe the next one?

Antibiotics are good in moderation.
Anything in the extreme is unhealthy.
Everything has its place.
