last but not least, it is very rude to tell someone to shut up, but to go that extra step and physically restrain someone from talking? very, very rude. So, if someone does something to you that is unsanitary, is a gross violation of your personal space, and is insulting, rude, and inappropriate, and you have the audacity to object, that makes you a homophobe? Please man, think about this one.I think your personal bias is affecting your judgement, and rosie's, on this one.

Putting your hand over someone's mouth is in super bad taste for more than one reason. First of all it IS dirty. Public people, talk show host etc. are careful to not touch their OWN face because of all the handshaking that goes on. Secondly , it is a serious violation of someones personal space to touch them around the mouth, regardless of the toucher's sexual preferences. It is entirely inappropriate and it's really hard for me to imagine that you would defend it.

John Paulus. The sleazy ex green beret who started the rumor in the National Enquirer, then circulated a fake video. He later (much later) admitted it was all a lie but who knows if that retraction even made it in the tabloids or news. I doubt it.

Part 4: This is a delicate matter infront of people, and Kelly was quite shocked of a co-host not knowing his position and playing it as well as she does when Reigis is there. There is a matter of "loss of face" and she felt disrespected. Quite a difficult subtle power play involved.

Part 3: You can see that when she is the support person, she doesn't cross the line and fills her role to the tee. Now when Clay was on, Clay was being quite assertive and not really humbling himself as a support person and stepped over Kelly's perceived boundaries of who is in charge.
I've only known about these incidents that turned people off Clay only recently. My take, however, is that he made a mistake for which he was sorry, Kelly Ripa was oversensitive at the wrong time for harping on the incident further while Rosie just plain overreacted badly. I think it's nobody's business to characterize someone's sexual orientation and stereotypes are a poor basis for making that decision.

When did Clay or anyone who knows him, say he's gay? He said in 3 different interviews that he's not gay, then in 2006 decided not to comment anymore, saying people will believe what they want to believe. Kelly Clarkson, who is a good friend and toured with Clay, laughed at that and said he's so Not gay. So did Tyra Banks. But the rumors continue. Pathetic that people have nothing better to do. Even slimeball J.P. finally admitted his allegations were all untrue.
