But, what's the matter if some company try to earn with Linux? They DEVELOP mono and have been doing good thing! (I am using Monodevelop and it is GREAT!!!)

Microsoft gave Novell full rights to its patents.

Microsoft is LETTING Novell make a Silverlight for Linux, a.k.a. Moonlight.

The merger lasts for 4 more years. The patent covenants last for 20+ years. This was guaranteed by Microsoft and Novell by a clause in the merger.

If you want to play with Silverlight, fine, but don't take part in the development of a deliberately patent encumbered piece of subterfuge like Moonlight.
