I feel that if you didn't do it yourself and so blatantly copied it that you had to pay the original composer to allow you to produce it, you're ripping the original composer off. But you have your definition, I have mine. And Warren recorded whole songs, he didn't just pick up part of one and then write it into a whole song, like that idiot Kid Rock did.

No. "Ripped off" means he stole it. He did not steal it. He did not rip it off. Bobby Richie borrowed it, and Warren (his estate) got paid in real American money.  That is not ripping off anyone. Warren himself recorded songs written by other composers.
