Unless if you count the coup that was plotted against Mohammad Mosaddegh of Iran in the 1950's or the presidency of Teddy Roosevelt in the 1900's, or the way commodore Perry opened a trade agreement with Japan in 1854, the Mexican, American war of 1846, And the use of pirates during the revolutionary war. If you don't count the last 230 years, America has been about spreading freedom and democracy.

@2014cwajts71 WTF? this a man who grew up a simple life and is just proud to live in a land so many of us take for granted now. He wrote this for the people, not the government. Why not listen to the whole song, and not just the chorus. This came out long before the U.S. invaded Iraq, and way before Bush fucked us over. This came out when people were proud to be an American, and you needa STFU and get the fuck out if you don't love this country cause you obviuoulsy don't desrve it.
