I shot this video in a thunderstorm in Taylorville, in south Tuscaloosa, Alabama. About 20 seconds into the video you can see the wind whipping phone/ cable transmission lines while we negotiate the intersection.

  • Those are telephone/cable lines, not powerlines. Still a good idea to stay back because if they drop they do weight quite a bit and can still cause damage.

    The "technical" term for what's happening is "galloping."

  • the gallop was so srong it knocked out the stoplights!
