This Hydrokopter were produced in Sweden, "Hasto Shipyard" beginning 1980. It was named "Hydrokopter Special" and originally came with an aircooled 2-stroke 43Hp Ilo engine. Here we have installed 64Hp Rotax 532 and a 3-blade Kiev propeller.
I have actually not tested with different loads much. The cabin is very small. You can sit two medium size persons there, plus say, Max 100kg luggage.
On water, one person aro 15 knots. Two persons probably less than 10Knots. It's not great on water frankly speaking. Best conditions is on ice or snow of course. On ice it goes faster than it should. Just with small throttle I easily reach 70Km/hour, but for self preservation I do not like to go that fast with it.
Do you really have the model "Hydrokopter Special" of Arko shipyard (same as mine)?
This model, (so-called "special" version) with closed cabin, was manufactured in very small numbers, and I think this model is little bit too small for a VW engine - it may become too rear heavy.
That is the reason why I installed Rotax Air plane engine, which wheight is only 40 kg (incl cooling system)
Hey this is my new winterproject.. Wanna build one..!!!
Wondering: How many kg can you load in the boat at still have a good performance.
How fast does i go on water, snow and Ice?

Whats it powered by? It looks like a scooter engine.

hello @leapoffaith20
It's a Rotax 532 which is an dedicated Airplabe engine, although Rotax makes very similar engines to scooters too.
