For me, the best way I learn stuff is through trial and error, and doing things. I mainly use my home network for trial work. For instance I am setting up a new Solaris server so I can work on taking my Solaris certs.

And by the way, your basement is AWESOME...I have a pretty nice home network setup but I really don't have a lot of gear...I really want to get some more... I will...Just have to find the room...and the cash :) I just sold 5 Cisco E1000 Wireless N's...Should have kept them..

@Eientatsu I believe in Redundancy, that way if I have to take one down everything still works. :-)

What is the impact that all this has on your power bill, as far as like KWh?
onionofdeath 1 year ago
@onionofdeath On my new setup "My Home Network V3.0" I am only running 3 of my new servers currently, not including the CoLo ones at my house. According to my UPS I am drawing about 4.6 Amps continuous. If I figured correctly that would be 397.44 KWH/Month. On LES that is about $25.33/Month
