In Loving Memory Of Emily Jones

Emily's story by her mother

Emily Marie Jones was born in Joshua tree California on March 01, 2007 and was tragically tooken away by a beaded loop cord on our window blinds on September 06, 2008 at the age of 18 months. We will remember her and love her forever. She was a very special child who loved to dance and to watch Dora The Explorer.She was just learning how to say new words like peoples names our pets names and when she would say your welcome or thank you she would say delcome. She was so full of life she had her bad days to when she would get mad she used to scream really loud, It's funny when we think about it now, or when she would spit if you told her no....I miss everything about her The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly......I especially miss the way she snorted whe she was pretend laughing(like if something had been funny) I don't want these memories to fade.I'm gonna hold on to them as long as I can. We love you and miss you with all of our hearts. Your big sister Mallory sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to you all the time she love's and misses her sissy emily. Mallory has aprecious moments doll that a friend had given to us and it says"now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep, the Angels watch me thru the night and keep me in there blessed light. Amen", Mallory calls that doll Emily.


Emily's Story

The morning I last saw our precious baby girl was on september 6th 2008 it was a saturday morning and like every saturday morning I was getting ready for work and emily and her sister mallory were running around causing ruckus. The girls went outside and were sitting at the edge of the porch playing in the dirt. I sat down and watched them for about 10 minutes before having to leave. When it was time to go the girls came into the house and they wanted piggy back rides so I picked up emily put her on my back and my friend kathy picked up mallory and put her on her back and we ran around for a couple of minutes, I never really played with the kids as often as I should have. Then I had to go, I got a kiss and knuckles from mallory but emily ran from me for me to chase her when it was time for her kiss good bye. Instead of chasing her I blew her a kiss and left. This is the last living memory I have of my beautiful little girl emily. Later that day I get a phone call from my mother who had been watching the girls and she was upset that emily was awoken from her nap by a few guests. I told her to lay emily back down on her toddler bed (which was in my room.) Instead of going back to sleep emily climbed onto my bed which was next to the window that had vertical blinds with a beaded loop cord to draw the shades. Emily then wrapped the cord around her neck and strangled to death. My mother had only been out of the room no longer then a few minutes. When I arrived at the hospital the staff was trying to revive her but she was already gone. I never got to hold her. We miss her terribly and had another baby, we're very proud parents but the pain from our loss will never be healed. The one thing I wish I could have changed is being informed about the dangers of blinds before it was too late. MOMMY LOVES YOU WITH MY WHOLE HEART EMILY.
