  • @DisneyVideos2000 Actually the torch lady is Columbia Pictures, not CBS.

  • This is the "good" Screen Gems logo, before Eric Siday and company got a hold of it.

  • Is Sony REALLY plaster crazy?

  • WoW! Screen Gems modern logo is nothing like this one assuming the two production studios are related...?

  • It didn't last too long in black and white, you mean, 'headphone'. After ONE "test" episode in color in the fall of '61, Ford Motor Company (its sponsor) and NBC wanted the show to be seen in color. At that time, Screen Gems wouldn't have paid to film the show in color themselves [they were notoriously cheap], but Ford had the advertising budget to insist it be filmed in color from season two on....

  • I wish Gunsmoke was from Screen Gems!

  • The torch lady reminds me of the Columbia Broadcasting System!

  • @headphone355 1961-1966 with 154 episodes

  • The first proper colored episodes of "Hazel" aired in the 1962-63 season, which was the last to feature the 2nd version of the "Torch Lady" logo.
