diana102393 i respect your feelings on the matter but for me they are a new breed of zombies call it what you will they are what they are no matter how you describe it.

Zombies are generally dead people that got reanimated by certain chemicals or by unknown means..they don't die unless their heads are chopped or severely damaged..they infect living humans which turn into zombies too. E.g: Night of the living dead, Dawn of the dead, Resident evil, The walking dead
Now, the new kind of infected zombielike humans do not have to be dead in order to start the "movie" they are alive when the virus spreads and can die of starvation e.g: this movie, I am legend

man eating monster concept roots to the arabian mythological creature of ghoul. actually whole zombie thing revolves around that creature except the name.
ghouls are undead humans feed on corpse, its said that they dig up graves or even kill for a lunch. they dont turn their victims by contact though but still they meet all the attributes of zombies we know.
infected is a new term that helps to differentiate those two.
necromancy=zombie
virus=infected

Now "I am legend" is a good example of the "infected" unlike this movie,,,, in my opinion they may have rabies but they kill for food, cause theyre hungry. Basically a zombie's characteristics. For example, "Quarantine" were people infected by the virus, but they fed off of the living... the defenition of a zombie. Also, Resident Evil,,, now they were also called the "infected"... but they also fed off of corpses cause they were hungry and even then, they clarified them as Zombies.

No, Diana is right. They are alive, their just infected with a virus thats similar to the "Rabies" disease. In 28 days later they called it the rage virus, because it made people mad as hell and use their animalistic instincts to kill their prey, which would be to bite. The reason the infected ones eat on corpses is because they're hungry!
