On Feb. 5, 2010 around midnight, in Sterling, VA. During blizzard-like conditions, this happened about 15 times, each time the power went out instantly following these blue-green flashes that light up the entire sky. The flash happens around 38 seconds into the video.

  • It happened 14 times within about an hour. The entire sky lit up. We thought it was a transformer at first, but many other people in northern VA captured the same thing on film so I don't think it was.
