I'm not a big fan of The Dave Matthews Band, but Dave is a sick rhythm guitarist and Tim is Tim, and together they are just excellent together.

The Man!

exactly man.

Tim Improvises. Its feeling for him, planning and writing for dave. Both great talents, just different

Band leaders always find better musicians than they to be in their bands! Besides, Dave writes the words/music, and has the musicians do the rest!

best rytyhem guitarist i can think of and also a great percussive guitar player

also you write a catchy guitar lick. can you do it... no you can't. untill you do you have no professional music opinion and no musician will listen to you.

stop arguing whether or not dave is good at guitar he is a supreme singer/songwriter. also anyone who can write the ant's marching guitar part is amazing at guitar. tim reynolds doesn't write lyrics and sing. tim reynolds just plays guitar. dave does it all
It's funny that Dave says he's not very good at guitar. That is him being modest. Yeah, he's not going to try to show of Slash or Steve Vai or anything, but Dave doesn't try to play lead.
On the other hand, I'd like to see most lead players try to play Dave's stuff while singing. His stuff is pretty difficult, and VERY creative and unusual.
Probably my favorite musician ever.

Correct. Technician vs. musician. But anyone who says Dave isn't a fine guitarist is a fool, and certainly not a guitarist. He's a guitarist's guitarist. Not flashy (or leady) at all, but uniquely great.
