Haha yeah :( Oh well, here's looking forward to the expansions xD

  • @Yoshi17th hehe yeah mech can make some cool play... but we rarely see that at the highest level. some guys with funky styles do it like Naama or Byun. but i think they are able of capitalizing on the advantage of mech builds being unexpected. but even Goody uses bio now vs toss and that means something :)

oh and i remember Kas having a cool mass banshee build vs toss, but he only used that as a troll build vs lesser players.

  • @xaositectz

Oops sorry, the game I was referring to -- I meant that it is an example of going air, not mech or mech/air.

Though, mech is barely decent enough on some maps like Dual Site and Shakuras, and maybe Calm of the Storm (beastyqt did some weird +1inf atk +veh atk + veh def + ship atk mix and still won in a direct engagement vs protoss). But yes I do agree with what you've said :) Jjakji's 2 fact/2starport is pretty fun haha. But when the mass chargelots come... gg :(

  • @Yoshi17th white-ra doesn't represent the highest level though. high templar+chargelots counter mech too well to make it a viable endgame strategy. feedback counters raven, banshee, bc, thor, mech builds slow and at 3+ base the toss can warp in 10+ chargelots by the time terran builds one tank. mech can make some cool play in the early and midgame (mvp's 2-2-2, or jjakji's games vs puzzle) though when no templars are available.

  • Those storms were incredible! I don't know if it's because I'm high or not, but I laughed until I cried on the slowdown of "THERE'S STORMS INSIDE THAT PRISMMMMMMM." On second thought, it's definitely because I was high. AWESOME storms though WOW

  • @iRavenTM

Well I've heard many times of it being done successfully on KR GM level (whether it only "works" as an occasional surprise strategy or as a "solid" build is a different story though) but I guess I wasn't thinking of the right one. Check out the qxc vs WhiteRa game casted by Husky. You can see my analysis and explanations in the most recent comments saying why it works and that, without qxc's huge mistakes, he would have won.

  • @Yoshi17th Honestly it doesn't matter. Show me a "pro" level replay off mass air / mech against toss. There's maybe 2 maps on the current pool where mech is possible. But it's so easy for protoss to properly counter it its a risk.

  • @iRavenTM

Well I *think* I know which one, you are talking about the one where QXC goes Air on Metal right?

  • @iRavenTM

I know what replay you are talking about and I would like to say that KA is now gone and that QXC did not play nearly as well as that style allows. For a pro, his micro was disgustingly painful to watch. He stacked SO many units and basically he was playing BIO style but with air units. It's risky trying to rush to air, but once you get there, given the right map, it is definitely a viable strategy (there is no hard counter nor critical flaw, though it is definitely "harder" to use).
