@peak199 Hmm coming from a ls1 trans am to a ls2 gto your not telling me anything i dont no.It still doesnt matter how good the motor is the hemi still won and it goes both ways every day at the strip.

Lots of inaccurate facts in the previous posts. The 04s came with an LS1, the 05s AND 06s came with 400 hp LS2s which you can identify by the hood scoops and the exhaust on both years.
Secondly the LS7 is a 427 (7.0L) and has never come supercharged stock. You're thinking of the LS9 found in the new ZR-1 which is based off of the 6.2 liter LS3 block.

actaully the confusion was....the person who owns the GTO......told me that its supercharged and has Z06's LS7...thats is y i wrote it...and thnk u for clearing it up
