1996 KTVU 2 "10 O'Clock News" Open

Some of my favorite graphics work on the KTVU 10 O'Clock News open. With anchors Dennis Richmond and Elaine Corral, this one aired on KTVU Channel 2 Oakland/San Francisco/San Jose during May, 1996.

I think I like the later variation of this open - with the revised FOX 2 version of the logo - a little better. The transition from the "2" to the bay area is a little rough here.

Agreed, though, that in all of its variations, this is probably one of the best news opens of all time.

It's a shame they junked the theme.

There are only two other stations I know of still using the same news theme they did in 1987; WJZ (Chroma Cues) and WTOC (Gari's Newschannel package).

I miss Ron Boltz doing the opens here from KTLA and KTVU. Its Incredible that KTVU is the only Fox Station to not go tabloidal like the Fox O&O's do.
