I couldn't rustle up ten people but I tried. I also know that you cannot see what I am doing on the television monitor which is why I am adding the speech below. Here is the electronic form of my speech:

How to disable automatic start up programs:
Have you ever wanted to make your computer boot just a little faster? It probably doesnt cross your mind until youre actually sitting there saying to yourself, Dang! This computer sure does boot slow! Well, today I will discuss how to stop unwanted programs from starting automatically when a windows-based computer first boots up. We will be using the operating system Windows XP for this demonstration. The first thing you need to have is a computer with all of the peripheral devices, such as; a keyboard, a mouse, and, of course, a monitor. If you have a laptop, then you will only need it plugged in. Next, make sure everything is plugged in correctly. This is essential because if one of these components does not work correctly, then further troubleshooting will be required. Once everything is set up properly, the next step will be to turn the computer on. The power button is usually found on the front of computer and only needs to be pressed one time. A beep should sound and the monitor should display the beginning of the boot up process. After a minute or so, the computer should display the login in screen if the user has a password on the account. If there is not password on the account, it will start up windows automatically. Now, you can tell which programs are starting up automatically by looking in the bottom-right hand corner of the taskbar where icons will start appearing from right to left. So who told those programs to start up automatically? Well, when a program is first installed, sometimes it will ask if the specific program should start upon boot up. Anyway, lets speed up this time-consuming process. So, we begin by clicking the start button in the bottom-left hand corner of the taskbar. A pop out menu will then appear with several options. Second, click the run option and another pop out menu will appear. At this point, we will type in the command, msconfig. This will open a window with several tabs that run along the top of the window with sub-options that allow changes to its configuration. Now, we will choose the Startup tab. This will display all of the programs that allow the program to automatically startup during the boot up process. To disable the programs that you would like not to automatically start, just uncheck the box that is next to the program you desire. You can also you the disable all or enable all option is you so choose. Once you have made the necessary changes, click the apply option and then click OK. A window will then pop up prompting you that You may need to restart your computer to apply these changes. Before restarting, save any open files and close all programs. Then, you have the two options of either restarting your computer or exiting without restart. Make the appropriate decision and you will then be all set for the next time you reboot your computer. I can assure everyone that this will make your computer boot up faster than it did. Thank you.
