Interesting section of an interview with conductor Antonio Pappano were Renee Fleming talks about legato singing, phrasing, head voice, etc. This is from Fleming's recent DVD release of LA TRAVIATA on Opus Arte.

Loved this. Thank you so much for posting! Do you happen to have any more of the interview? I downloaded the opera on I-Tunes, but to my disappointment, it didn't come with any "extras." It would be much appreciated! :-)

Yes, I actually read that this would be the first opera video offered on itunes, but I bought the DVD anyway. :)

That was cool. Glad I watched that, she says a lot of the same things my own voice teacher says all time. Cool.

The mark of a mature singer is being able to recognize that their work will never be done.

In a few minutes she gave the fundamentals of healthy and expressive technique. Emotions come from the guts and having good support and head voice always present in all your singing is the golden secret of a good and healthy technique
