  • How cool to hear a Beatle story coming from Pete & not have it spoiled with the usual interviewer's tired -ass "how did it feel when............"!

I had the pleasure, thrill & honor of meeting Pete several years ago while sharing the bill with The Pete Best band(one of my luckiest days ever), & really people, he is one of the nicest guys anyone could ever meet. Btw, "The Thing" story was a new one to me & funny as hell !

  • I don't get the motivation behind these people who bash Pete. It's fucking strange. Pete played almost a thousand times with the Beatles. It's almost impossible to suck if you play that much. Not too many question bringing Ringo aboard - he was right for The Beatles. But the WAY they sacked Pete was a disgrace. The guy put in all the hard work for 2 years up to the point of getting signed, then is suddenly sacked without proper explanation through Brian, then shunned forever. Not to mention dis

  • What a horrible story! It's good to hear Pete talking about his time as a Beatle, though :).

  • Ringo was a beatle pete was pete end of

  • Pete was sacked because Ringo looked better wearing a funny long coat and cap in the Hard Days Night Movie.

  • If you listen to both drummers, Ringo was better, not good, just better. They were both pretty bad, but they were young and still learning. Both made many mistakes if you listen and watch, and both went off beat many times.

  • Nothing against him what so ever, but ringo was just much better, as a drummer, but he was also a much more funny guy.

  • I like Pete. He is always so nice and bears no apparent ill will. He was a good drummer with the Beatles. I have read the comments regarding his release and know the reasons why, or the reasons given anyway. Rock on Pete!

  • Those who say Pete Best was 'only in the Beatles until they had a proper drummer' - have you no ears?

There are many early recordings on youtube which prove that Pete Best was at the very least competent. He was good enough to play 1000 gigs with them - he played more gigs with the Beatles than Ringo did.

The Beatles may have had very good reasons to prefer Ringo, both personal and musical, that is up to them - But Best was a Beatle for 2 years. Live with it.

  • Pete best was not better then ringo! he says that they didn't want him in the band cuz they were jealous, but really the only reason they wanted him in was because thy needed a drummer to go to hamburg the next day! The only reason Pete is famous is because he can't get over the fact that the beatles didn't want him anymore
