Canon XL1s Rain Storm test footage

Fist shot with this camera..not good I know I am a complete novice with video.. but anyway, what you see is what I shot ..not cuts or fills..I have no fancy editor yet...only added the sound in windows movie maker is all i did. All taken shooting out the windows of the house in real time....Looking forward to getting better and seeing what i can do with this camera...I know this camera is getting long in the tooth and fading in popularity but then so am I.

How is the picture quality so good? I own an XL1 as well but when I format my videos into a quicktime video to upload to youtube, the quality is much poorer

Hey Jarret :

Well I really dont know what to tell you other then what i did.

1) I shot in 4/3 mode not wide screen...the XL1s looses resolution in 16:9 mode...Check out my Stillraining3 channel to see what I mean.

2) I rendered and uploded using windowes movie maker not Quicktime.

3) This being my first sholdering of the camera I let it do all the thinking for me..I did not try to override anything....

This is the only viedo I get any coments on so I guess Im going down hill from here..:(

is this the original audio track as that thunder seems a little artificial. and believe me when i say, no one will get tired of videos of rainstorms . they're nature's valium.
