In the Persian Gulf you find the Island of Kish, that belongs to Iran. It is a free trade zone, you find many shopping malls over there. It was constructed in the seventies by the gouvernement that also planned a residence for the shah and his family. They stayed there for diving and sunbathing until 1979.
