Silvanus Slaughter (or "Silvio") has composed two marathon series of original trans-genre vocal and instrumental material to be released beginning 2012, ("Constellations Compromised Vols 1-3" and "Symphonic Jazz Abstractions Vols 1-7") and film music is his deepest influence aside from country romance and jazz. "I have loved Bernard Herrmann since I was 5 years old," he says. "The only available recording of Bernard Herrmann's love theme for this 1966 Francois Truffaut film adaptation of a Bradbury story is an interpretation of his brief score, and sheet music is unavailable. I have been haunted by the disarming tenderness of this Herrmann theme for 30 years, so, being self-trained, decided to arrange my own piano version by ear. The film contains only a string version, but it always seemed to me to be a piece about touch and touching, thus, I hear piano. The brief music-film wedded to it focuses on making contact with the keys, nostalgia for the past, and an invitation for someone to come sit down for a while."

Thank you for this lovely interpretation. It brings out the beauty of the Fahrenheit 451 love-theme. Perhaps you should think about composing some variations of this theme for piano.
