Our son was visiting this weekend and he enjoys the outdoors just as much as we do. Each day he was here we went to Lake Lanier to check out a pair of Canadian geese we had seen nesting. The photos in this video were taken by our son Bryan.

  • OMG! Those babies were so precious! I just love to watch them. The little squabble in the end was scary but I guess that's how nautre is.

Very nice park you guys have with so much wildlife ;-)

  • @1boidae Yes, we are lucky to have this park so close to us!! The fight was very scary, but it did not last long and the two pairs walked away with no injuries and no lost babies. I was glad we were there to see the fighting...it makes you realize that nature is not always sweet baby chirping.

  • This is a beautiful video. I'll bet the male was hissing at the beginning of the video! They are very protective of the female and the babies. I was once chased all over my front lawn when we lived in MI by a male swan who didn't want me anywhere near the female. My sister "saved" me by running out of the house with some bread for them! I have a feeling all these large wild birds act the same. The babies are just precious little geese - the yellow on them is interesting.

  • @momkat201 This is a very busy park and the geese are pretty used to people. The male hissed at us just a tiny bit, but he didnt seem to mind us looking. We didn't get too closed.

  • WOW! that is some awesome footage! Beautiful!

  • @jxh0703 Thank you!!

  • @rita191919 We have lots of geese here and I have found they are expert at reading human body language; they can tell when you mean no harm but are just interested in them and the babies and I think they're quite patient with anyone like that.

  • @ZoologyWildLife Both Canada and Canadian are acceptable. If you really want to be correct, you should call them Branta canadensis.

  • first of all its called canada not canadian>:( get it right foo!!

  • LOL hes like I HAVE ONE BABY AND I KICK YO BUTT!

  • Awesome video! Almost looks like she got up just to show off her beautiful babies! LOL. Wow didn't take long for them to start exploring around! I guess they would have to to be able to survive. That's an amazing park!

  • @rita191919 Yes it was and you're right those people should be horse whipped for doing that!
